Whata great day. Some little beautiful climbs, then a long main road (they have great hard shoulders for bikes) then the climb.
I was discombobulated by two people who told me the climb was barriered for the peak season. I thought “that can’t mean bikes” and I was right. Only buses and minivans were allowed up and it was very quiet. Sooo much easier than the Angliru but with s different kind of beauty.
Tomorrowa 45m ride to the station, then a “train” (it looks like a bus on a track) to Santander to wait for Tamsin, who arrives on Friday!
