Had a nice chat with some Belgian cyclists this morning, one of whom invited me to stay to watch Amstel Gold race or LBL!
A climb for nearly two hours kicked off cycling for the day, but it was so pretty and the gorge on the other side was like a postcard all the way down.
Then the road to Perpignan which was payback for all the steady uphill I’ve done. With a tailwind and smooth tarmac I hit 70kmh plus at one point and free wheeled for 20 minutes at about 30kph. Bliss.
P.S. I made it safely to Tautavel about 45 minutes after I wrote the above to a very warm welcome from Rob.
