I made it to Pau but it was a bit of a slog in the end. Always pedalling with no respite is not my strong point. There were a couple of small hills and it reminded me a little of Essex.
I’m safely parked in my hotel, the restaurant is booked and tomorrow is much more uppy downy. 65km to Le Viscos then dump the bags then do the Hautacam climb.
Pau is somewhat like Bath. Having read up a little I find this should not be a surprise given it was popularised by the Brits as a winter escape from the Sun back in the day.
