Front loading + sandals + axle upgrade

The Test Tour have me a few things to think about and improve.

  1. My axle was not long enough. Tailfin do sell an extended axle and we’re kind enough to say they’d send me a new one for free. The longer axle works perfectly and I now have a nice air gap too so the mudguard interfering with the rack
Air gap!

2. The bike felt unbalanced with all the weight at the back. Glorious Tailfin do great cage bags and cages so I installed some. Amazingly the bags on the field in this photo contain my sleeping bag, tent and towel. ~800g each bag including the bag.

3. The decision to ride with flat pedals means I can ride in sandals. Happy days. Unfortunately my shoes are so large I’ll need to carry the two rack bags, one for each shoe. This is not so bad. This setup has all my kit but no room for food at all.
